Study English in the UK for less than 6 months.

If you’re a student from the European Union or some Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Chile, or Argentina, you won’t need to apply for a visa for English courses of less than 6 months. All you need to enter the UK to study is:

  • A valid passport.
  • Enrollment in a center accredited by the British Council or English UK.
  • Medical insurance that covers your entire stay in the UK.

Study English in the UK for 6 to 11 months

International students who want to study for 6 to 11 months will need to apply for the Short-term Study Visa to legally enter the country to study. The requirements are:

  • Minimum age of 16 years old
  • Valid passport
  • Sufficient funds to cover all expenses during your stay in the country, such as accommodation, transportation, and food.
  • Enrollment in a center accredited by the British Council or English UK.
  • A return plane ticket, with departure no later than 30 days after the end of the course.
  • Medical insurance covering your entire stay in the UK.

What English courses can I study in the UK?

As we mentioned before, the UK has a large number of english schools, each with their own study programs. In general, we can divide the educational offerings into general English courses, official title preparation courses, and courses for teachers.

    General English

Studying a general English course in the UK is a good idea if you want to strengthen your English skills. It is ideal for those who are just starting to learn English and want to improve their writing, speaking, listening, and reading skills, as well as for those who have been studying for some time and want to consolidate their knowledge.

Within general English courses, you can choose morning or afternoon schedules, or the famous intensive english courses, which are very useful for perfecting your English in record time.

    Preparation for official English titles

Preparation courses for english official titles in the UK are ideal for those who want to obtain a certificate that demonstrates their English level. We all know how important it is to speak English nowadays, but it is not just about speaking it. To apply for many visas, access educational opportunities, and work abroad in many cases, you will need a certificate that validates your english level.

    • IELTS is one of the most popular and recognized English certification institutions worldwide. Preparation courses for the exams usually last from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your level and the score you want to obtain in the exam. During the classes, you will practice the different exam tasks, which are divided into speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and learn structures and tips that will help you pass the exam smoothly.
    • Cambridge is another of the most recognized official English language certification bodies worldwide. The preparation courses usually last 9 to 10 weeks, although there is also an intensive preparation modality that lasts 8 weeks.

    Academic English

If you are thinking of starting or continuing your higher education studies abroad, academic english courses have been designed with you in mind.

In these courses, you can refresh your English, consolidate your knowledge, and launch yourself to study a degree or a master’s degree in English without fear.

These courses are focused on helping you to present better, speak in public, and provide you with vocabulary so that you can express your ideas to your classmates and professors.

    Business English

If you are already working and interested in learning English to open up to international markets, a business English course is ideal for you.

Business English courses focus on helping you improve your presentation, negotiation skills, and your vocabulary related to the world of sales, human resources, and marketing.

In addition, these courses are usually the perfect place to meet other professionals and make your first international contacts.

    English teacher training courses

If you are a teacher and would like to teach English abroad, English teacher training courses are for you.

These courses are focused on providing you with the necessary knowledge to teach English to students from around the world.

    • CELTA and TESOL: CELTA (Cambridge-accredited international teacher training) and TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language or Other Language) courses are two of the most popular courses for training teachers, and completing one of them is also a requirement to teach English anywhere else in the world.

These courses usually last between 4 weeks (intensive format) and 12 weeks (part-time), and you will need to have a C1 or C2 level to enroll.

The UK has charming cities where you can learn english. Today, we are going to talk about the one we like the most, and almost 9 million other people: London.

What do you think about living in a city that has been the scene of countless movies? A city that never sleeps, with an incredible urban culture, live music, museums, theaters, musicals, restaurants, fashion, and a thousand more stories happening in every corner of the city.

London has a dizzying pace that hooks you. Its neighborhoods have something that makes them special, from the colorful houses of Notting Hill to the grotesque streets of Camden Town.

Being such a large and populated city, transportation options are varied, there is something for everyone, and they work quite well. You can move by bus (400 stops throughout London), metro (one of the largest networks in the world), train, tram, car, and bicycle, although the city does not have too many bike lanes. Even if you have a little more time, you can take the boat to cross the Thames.

The climate in London is temperate, with temperatures that occasionally drop below zero and occasional snowfall, but above all, with a lot of rain. Summers, on the other hand, usually hover around 20 degrees, with some heat waves and sunny days that make everyone run to catch some sun in the nearest park.
