Structure of the National Veterinary Exam
If you have already enrolled in the ENV, you will be interested to know which parts of the exam are:
- Preliminary exam: there is one call per year, usually in April. You will have to register for the exam at the latest on February 8. A multiple choice exam that you can take in Australia, New Zealand, London, New Delhi, Dubai or Singapore.
- Final exam (Clinical): the exam is usually done in November or December, and lasts about 4 or 5 days. You have two opportunities within 27 months, after having passed the preliminary exam, otherwise, you will have to repeat and pass the preliminary exam again.
Once you have passed the final exam, a certificate will be issued that will be sent directly to you. With it, you will have to register as a veterinarian in Australia. From there, you will have the same right and obligations to work as a veterinarian in Australia.
If you still do not meet the English level requirement, do not worry. You can come to Australia with a student visa, enroll in an English course and work part-time on something else to finance your stay until you improve your level.
