What requirements do you need to access an Australian university?

And you may be wondering: what is needed to be able to access? We’ll tell you the most common requirements, although later you’ll have to see what is required exactly in the program you’re interested in. In some programs, they may be minimal, and in others, they may require a portfolio or work experience, for example. So, at a minimum, they will ask you for:

    • The english level is usually between 6.5 and 7.5 on the IELTS. This would be a C1 or C2 level. If you do not have this level yet, do not give up. You can also come a few months early to take a preparatory English course and then obtain your C1 and enter the university. We can help you with this great plan.
    • If you are going to study a master’s degree, they will ask for your degree certificate and grades translated by a NATTI translator. They may also request a letter of motivation and your complete CV.
    • Normally, when you go to enroll, you will have to pay the first installment of the university, that is, a full semester. It is paid every six months.

How much does it cost to study at an Australian university?

Prices vary between universities. In Australia, there are no public universities and everyone has to pay, although foreigners pay a bit more because they have access to fewer scholarships.

To give you an idea, the price range can be between $18,000 AUD and $35,000 AUD annually. This is a price similar to that of private universities in most countries, including Spain, and lower than the cost of studying in the USA or UK. That’s why if you’re considering studying at a private university, doing it in Australia, with all the extra benefits it entails, is a great option.

Master’s fees are usually higher than undergraduate fees, but they also last for a shorter period of time.

If you’re wondering whether you could pay for university in Australia by working part-time with a student visa, the answer is no. However, you can cover the cost of living in Australia. That’s why you would need savings to pay for your studies upfront, while using your earnings to cover day-to-day expenses (rent, food, transportation, etc.).

If these prices are beyond your budget, take a look at VET courses, which are also a good option.

    Scholarships for foreign students

There are scholarships to study in Australia offered by Australian institutions as well as Spanish or European ones that you could access. For example:

    Scholarships from Australian universities

These scholarships are great but you have to have an impressive CV. Keep in mind that there is a lot of competition. What you have to do is search university by university for their own scholarships. That way you will see the requirements. Our advice is that if you think you fit, apply for all of them.

In some universities, you will find scholarships that cover the entire tuition fee and in others, partial scholarships. They are available for both master’s and undergraduate degrees.
